MODL has a fellowship program for graduate students and is developing a fellowship for undergraduate students as well.

Fellowship Program

MODL is proud of its fellowship program for graduate students and is in the process of developing a fellowship program for undergraduate students in collaboration with the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office.

Structure of MODL 
Graduate Fellowship

  • Two-Year Master of Public Administration or Master of Public Policy
  • Fellow employed as an ASU part-time, benefited, 20 hours/week management intern both years
  • Fellow receives an ASU tuition waiver/scholarship ($34k value)
  • MODL Fellowship Program Structure and Opportunities:
  • MODL Fellows divide their time in the program between MODL (located on ASU’s Downtown Phoenix Campus) and hands-on work in elections offices. 
  • At MODL, the fellows work closely with our Executive Director Bill Gates to conduct research on elections and misinformation, organize conference of elections officials and experts and manage MODL’s social media platforms. 
  • In local elections offices, MODL fellows learn the mechanics of running elections and how elections offices interact with other departments in county government through a rotation program.
