International Idea Logo

International IDEA

The International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) is an intergovernmental organization of 35 Member States with the sole mandate to support and advance democracy worldwide. International IDEA contributes to the public debate on democracy and assists in strengthening processes, reforms, institutions and actors that build, advance and safeguard democracy, with a focus on electoral processes, constitution-building, democracy assessment and political participation and representation. Mainstreamed across all of our work are gender and inclusion, conflict sensitivity and sustainable development. Since 2023 International IDEA has worked on issues relating to Artificial Intelligence (AI) in elections, focusing in part on how Electoral Management Bodies across the world can harness the positive potential of the technology while protecting human rights and mitigating risks to electoral integrity, fairness, and accessibility, and also on the broader impact of AI on the electoral information environment.

Ready for Tuesday Logo

Ready for Tuesday

Ready for Tuesday works alongside election officials and trusted partners to strengthen operations, share practical tools, and build resilient systems that support secure, well-run elections.

Our team of former election officials focuses on three ideas:

  • Capacity: Supporting the people and institutions who make elections work
  • Readiness: Helping offices prepare for the full operational arc of running elections
  • Resilience: Building systems that allow election operations to adapt and continue delivering secure results.

We develop and facilitate exercises and workshops, offer direct program development support to offices and organizations across the country, and provide communications support. Through webinars, in-person engagements, curated resources, and aggregated information, we connect people to ideas and problems to solutions.

The Elections Group Logo

The Elections Group
