AI-Enabled Elections Workshop

This workshop introduces a simulated election scenario in the State of New Rutland, where a newly passed election law has triggered a special election scheduled to take place in just ten days. Participants will use the materials provided, including a breakout worksheet, summaries of the new election law, and supporting reference documents, to understand the legal context, divide into functional teams and complete real-world election administration tasks using AI tools. The goal of the exercise is to practice applying AI responsibly and efficiently to common challenges in election policy, communications, operations and public engagement under tight timelines.
